The Blessing Of The Lot

September 15, 2013. This day marked the time where my wife and I offered food to ask permission from the spirits that occupy the lot that we bought and now own.

I know, this is more of a Chinese superstition than a local one I think. Feng Shui. Ring any bells?

We went to our lot early in the morning so that there would not be many people probably passing by. That was my concern. I am the shy type, so there. But when we got there, I was surprised the plants grew taller and thicker compared to the last time we visited it.

Guess in a way, we are lucky the land in our lot is healthy as what we were told. This post will have no photo as my wife was unsure if it was okay to take a photo of the food that we offered. Maybe the spirits will not approve. It is best to be on the safe side, right?

So the requirements were to have pork and freshly killed rooster with its body parts intact (with its blood taken out) and both boiled plus grilled fish. Then on the side, we placed an extra strong Red Horse 1 liter beer on the right and chinese flowers on the left.

We then prayed using Chinese candles, burned some Chinese money and talked to the spirits just about anything like asking permission to use the land because we plan to put up our house, offering them food and beer and adding some marshmallows for dessert.

We then sprayed beer all around the lot and threw the petals of the flowers after we finished burning the Chinese money. After we were done, we waited till the Chinese candles were burnt to the max and that was it.

There will be more like this once construction of our house begins development. Again,I will remember this day because I have never tried this by myself. Considering I work and now live in a different city from my family, I have slowly done things by myself and learned a lot.

Donations appreciated. Every little $ helps. Or click Google +1
