Escape From Planet Earth (2013)
Too kiddie of a movie but good nonetheless. I did not expect I would get to enjoy this movie because there was not really much going at the start. But as the brother alien landed on Earth to save his brother, things pick up pace and as a whole, this movie is fun to watch.
The trouble begins when Astronaut Scorch Supernova finds himself caught in a trap when he responds to an SOS from a notoriously dangerous alien planet. Now, as his brother followed him to save him, viewers will find out the head of Mars, a female is in cahoots with Earth’s general, probably of the defense army.
As to how they met was funny. Matchmaking sites? LOL.
The CGI and character designs are very good and I did not expect to see 7 Eleven there and the famous slurpee. Who knew it could make martians high.
The general’s attitude though brings back memories of Avatar showing how cruel humans can be. But the root of all that could not be helped as it was born from a nightmare of seeing his dad get hit by a UFO when he was a child and not knowing that it was an accident.
That set him off his unending quest to ridding life beyond Earth and decimating any planet that has inhabitants in it. And as kiddie movies go, the good guys always defeat the bad guys.
There are some good morals in the movie that kids can typically learn from. Your kids have not seen it? Check it out!
