New Balance 10K Run Series 2012

Overall, this was my second 10k run. Last year I tried one and realized that I am just too old for it. This year, I tried the 10K thinking that I may not be so tired considering the exercise that I have maintained these past few months.

In a way, I was not very tired as I was before. But with my bruised sole acting up after 24 minutes, I slowed down a bit going to the finish line. Still, Finishing at 1 hour and 18 minutes is not bad I guess. My wife even wore shoes not for running, ha ha.

Those who joined were entitled to get a specially designed New Balance technical shirt worth Php2,200 from Singapore, a waterproof race bib of international standard, a timing chip and some giveaways that include a discount coupon from Planet Sports and The Athlete’s Foot.

The prizes suck though. Those who won shoes probably were not able to use them because it did not fit. A guy even won pink shoes. The people of New Balance should have given them vouchers to claim the shoes in some shoe store so that the winner could really get shoes that would fit them.

Edit: Anyhow, the official race results are finally available and here are the details where my wife and I stand among the numerous runners.
