Does Anyone Ever Think About Going To A Psychic?

When I think about a psychic, the first image that pops into my head is Ms. Cleo – the Jamaican psychic woman who turned out to be neither Jamaican or psychic. Ever since her ads, I have been plagued by the idea that a psychic could never be trusted.

Not only did I believe that every psychic was a phoney, but I pretty much figured their entire being was phoney; they were nothing but actors.

Apparently, I was wrong. I was very wrong indeed.

Not every psychic is a fraud like Ms. Cleo, but that doesn’t mean that their aren’t a good majority of fakers. There are quite a few people out there claiming to be psychics who have absolutely no psychic ability. They simply prey off those who have questions needing to be answered. To combat false psychics, such as Ms. Cleo, sites such as Keen.com and other psychic databases have popped up.

These types of sites are essentially the AngiesList of psychics and list a wide variety of psychics varying from palm readers to tarot dealers. If you don’t know the difference, a true psychic is one that requires no medium at all, a palm reader gives you a prediction solely based of the lines in your palms, and a tarot card reader provides you will answers to questions based of cards drawn. The sites also provide data about the different psychics in a certain area, and gives a rating to each one listed.

While I still don’t know if I fully trust the gift behind psychic ability, knowing that there actually is a network of individuals dedicated to refuting such disbelievers is interesting. I couldn’t get over how many psychics were actually listed in my area, and how many people had written reviews on the various psychics around the city.

Even if I choose to go and don’t fully believe, a trip to a local psychic could definitely provide entertainment for a few friends and myself or give myself something to do on a lonely afternoon. Psychic readers are also becoming popular dinner party guests and hot to drop in on during ladies’ nights out as well.

So if you decide that visiting a psychic might be something you are interested in, be sure to review whoever you’re interested in visiting before you go. Doing so may provide you with a more accurate reading, and just may give you the best bang for your buck.
