Assassination Games (2011)
It has been a long time since I watched Jean-Claude Van Damme in a movie. It actually was by chance that I watched Assassination Games since my officemate downloaded and my wife and I ran out of movies to watch that time, I thought I’d check it out.
Boy, was I surprised. The movie is good. Really. While there are some scenes where the mood tends to simmer down, once the action starts its pace, the fighting scenes are awfully good. Van Damme is quiet here though.
The story is about two assassins who agree to work together as one tries to avenge his wife and the other collect a reward for a job. Yes, both Van Damme and Scoot Adkins. The villain is a pretty nasty guy who did portray the character very well. Evil, sadistic and no mercy.
Van Damme’s action scenes may not be as dynamic as his other old movies but he did a pretty good job in this one just like Stallone’s The Expendables. His acting as well as Adkins’ featured good chemistry which made the movie good to watch.
It may not be the super blockbuster that viewers expect but I sure recommend this to any viewers who likes action movies.
