Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters (2013) Review
This was absolutely good in the trailer but when show time came, I was terribly disappointed. No powers. Come on! So what if Percy showed a few tricks using water since he is the son of Poseidon? He did not do any offensive skill.
These half human half God characters just use different mumbo jumbo stuffs without use of any of their real powers that their folks, the Olympian Gods are known for.
This is also more of a kiddie type of movie. I mean, I literally got bored with it. If not for the different CGI monsters that keep showing up whenever I almost get bored, I would have stopped watching it.
The CGI creatures were done pretty good. The characters are okay. Only their power-less features disappointed me plus the fact that Percy defeated the father of all Olympian Gods, Chronos so easily using Poseidon’s sword.
I wondered why they needed the shield still knowing that if Chronos may get resurrected, he can easily be defeated. All in all, I think this movie caters to very young generations since I am sure they all care about are the monsters only and could not care less how the story and plot goes.
This retelling of Rick Riodans book, The Sea of Monsters, showed much promise when I watched the trailer. It just did not satisfy me as a whole.
