Affiliate Links For Monetization
Well, sponsored posts are dead. Of course, not literally … yet. But they are getting there. Google’s Penguin and Panda updates had been harsh to advertisers who bought links so it really affected my earnings as my blogs heavily depend on sponsored posts.
Ads? Naah … Google AdSense’s algorithm is screwed. And if you get banned from them, there is no going back especially if your earnings are minor. Worse, they never reply. If they do, then consider yourself lucky. But chances are those replies are automated templates classifying them as junk replies.
So what other alternatives would there be to monetize one’s site aside from ads and sponsored posts? Affiliate links!
This has been going on for so many years but it is only now that I have decided to start putting up affiliate links in my blogs. That’s it. I do not need to do anything. How this works is you get to earn a percentage whenever someone buys a product that you advertised in your site.
There are many sites that offer affiliate monetization options. It will be up to you to decide which one to choose and which product(s). You cannot put up all of them as your site would look messy with too many image links. So choose some that you believe many will buy and those that fit in with the theme of your sites.
