What Is With No Pictures Allowed?

What is up with establishments not allowing anyone to take pictures inside their premise? What the hell is that? Last year when I went to Hongkong, a staff at McDonalds told me not to shoot photos of their cakes and pastry. As if those are one of a kind. This week, I wanted to take photos of a traveler’s lounge here in my hometown because the interior design looks so cool and for a traveler’s lounge, it looks luxurious.

I wanted to take some photos to help spread the word on this great place and tourists and transients alike will find this place a cheap alternative for a quick nap and/or stay. But no, it was not allowed. Are they afraid that the competition will copy their design? That is pretty stupid. Anybody can just check in to their place for a night and take all the photos that they want.

The owners should know that this is already free advertising. Unless they are idiots who know nothing about technology. I was pretty pissed about it, to think I walked all the way from home to that place just to take photos because the first time I went there, I did not bring the camera with me. The place was empty too. No customers, no walk-ins. Only people there were the staff.

Their loss. I wanted to write an article about it in my travel blog but never mind …
