Who Decides Who Dies?

In CSI Miami (season 8 episode 15), 4 astronauts had to let one of them go off the shuttle to save air after some little fragments of meteor struck their ship. One of them had to go so they can still have air left to return home. At the end of the episode, that was what one of suspects told CSI and they were only told this in return “you don’t get to decide”. He has a point. But the suspects also have a point. Can you blame them?

Horatio could not even give a definite answer except a riddle. “You don’t get to decide”. And? That’s all the police could say? It was like he was telling them it was better to die than to save some of them. As I said awhile ago, nobody has the right to decide who lives and who doesn’t. But if you are pulled into this scenario, what would you do? It is a very hard choice. Share your thoughts.
