The Spy Next Door

The movie Spy Next Door features Jackie Chan as a former CIA spy named Bob Ho who takes on his toughest assignment to date: looking after his girlfriend’s three kids who have not exactly warmed to their mom’s beau. After finishing his last assignment, he vowed to retire to seek a normal life. But when one of the youngsters accidentally downloads a top-secret formula, Bob’s longtime nemesis, a Russian terrorist, pays a visit to the family and it’s back to super spy mode again.

Naturally when it comes to Jackie Chan, the first thing that comes to my mind is funny action packed scenes. In this movie however, there was not much any fighting scenes to see. While there were quite a few, it lacked the luster compared to his old movies when Jackie was at his prime.

There were only a few scenes where I laughed. Most of them were destroyed by his girlfriend’s kids acting. The little boy was so annoying. And as always, at the end of the movie, you’d get to see mistakes that they did during taping. This movie is really for kids. I don’t know with you but to me, I did not find this enjoyable. If it wasn’t for the name Jackie Chane I did not bother watching this in the first place. Who knows, maybe you’ll like it.
