Ber! 2014

Do you know what many people think of when the month with the “ber” suffix has finally arrived? Christmas!

Here in my country, whenever September arrives, one can hear Christmas jingles being played in malls, decors being displayed and the countdown timer starting to run.

And why not, right? It is only 4 months till Christmas so it ain’t that long.

Not much has been going on in my life this 2014 except that I have been totally busy with work because I do not have my own PC at home, I have to squeeze all my tasks in the office and make sure I finish them ASAP. I have no time for anything else when I am at home as my wife and I are always busy with household chores.

Then there is the issue of sideline work. Another paid blogging service got hit by Google’s recent page rank update. This time, European sites got hit. Teliad was one, while I forgot the other name which ain’t important since Teliad is more famous of the two.

As months pass by, bloggers who depend heavily on sponsored links and posts for extra income will be more affected now that there looks to be less and less services out there that do this.

The only network I can see that will survive in the long run is Izea since their advertisers look more for traffic rather than page rank.

It has been a slow 2014. I cannot say I hope it will pick up especially next year. Only time will tell if there will be new services that will show up and help bloggers earn extra through sponsored links and posts.

Regardless, it is now September! So good or bad, I am still happy for what God has given me and I am looking forward to this coming Christmas break because my folks will be coming over for the New Year.
