BDO: “We Find Ways” … Really? Do They?
After twice getting in a pinch with this bank institution, it is time to sum up what BDO’s “We Find Ways” truly means.
Actually, there is a continuation that they purposely leave out in advertisements and commercials. The truth is, BDO’s complete slogan is:
BDO: We Find Ways … “for rich people”.
Now, if you are not a VIP in that bank, then consider your problems fall on deaf eyes and blind eyes. I am not going to detail my first experience with them when I was told “sorry sir, there is nothing we can do” even though it was their fault in the first place.
My 2nd experience with them was somehow getting penalized on a bounced check. Now, I really have no fracking idea what the rules are for bouncing checks are considering I abhor checks. It is just that it is the required payment that was lodged unto me by Ayala Land when I bought a condominium unit.
Now, this bouncing check issue was funny. I thought that within the 3 day span of clearing period, as long as before the 3rd day ends, there should be funds within that time frame. Turned out that whatever date I put on the check, there should already be funds with that amount in my checking account.
Well, laa-dee-daa! I got penalized. I did not know about it so I asked the manager of the bank where I opened my account to please reconsider since I had no idea it worked like this. Considering I had no penalties previously, it just so happened that this time, I issued the check when the funds went in to my other account and took my time till 2 days after to fund transfer it.
After a week, I was told it was denied. Figures. Not that I expected it since Manila management will never look at my case in detail and just ignore it. Seeing as what I was told that my ADB will factor heavily into their decision, it is not something that should be considered alone.
All banks do that. What makes their “We Find ways” give them an edge from other banks that they will truly find a way. I did not bounce the check on purpose in the first place.
So yeah. Screw that “We Find Ways” mumbo jumbo. As Xian Lim famously says on BDO’s tv commercial that they find ways, it is because he is a celebrity and the kind of celebrity that he is, he is definitely rich :P.
