Ice Age 4: Continental Drift (2012)
Contrary to what those critics had to say, the 4th movie of Ice Age titled Continental Drift was actually quite good.
Manny, Diego, and Sid embark upon another adventure after their continent is set adrift. Using an iceberg as a ship, they encounter sea creatures and battle pirates as they explore a new world and try to get back to their herd.
For Diego, he’s finally found someone of his kind. I guess they needed to pair him with a love interest considering that the others sort of have someone special already. Sid’s grandma also was hilarious. My wife and I really checked out who her character voice actress was and it turned out to be the same character as the one in The Adventures of Old Christine TV Series.
The plot was pretty obvious knowing that once the team got back to their herd, the evil monkey pirate would already be there beforehand to try and make his family hostage.
While Scrat’s nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn was funny when Ice Age first came out, I think he was the annoying at most in this movie compared to the previous 3.
For kids, they won’t mind what story it is as long as they see their favorite Ice Age characters in action so no matter what they will still love this movie once they watch it.
Overall a very good movie that I enjoyed watching with my wife.
