Online Reputation Management
A good reputation is very important. You may think that despite your good nature and personality, others see you as that. In cyberspace though, it is a whole different ballgame.
You may not know someone just did something to put your name in a bad light, say, spreading bad rumors. The results can be disastrous.
Let us say someone does a Google search for your name and the search results show something that may affect their opinion of you. If they see a lot of positive results, then you have a positive internet reputation. If they see a lot of negative, unrelated or irrelevant results, then this is where online reputation management comes in.
What this kind of management does is it helps change what shows up in your Google results when people search for your name. This is a gargantuan task considering that Google’s search mechanism is a complex one and it evolves as every year passes.
Some may think this is not very important but I think that this is especially most important to people who are high profile. Nobody may want to do business with you or get involved with you if you have such a bad reputation.
