I Found My Interview Funny

Okay, yesterday was weird. That probably was my shortest interview ever. And I felt I flunked ha ha! What is with these companies asking technical questions like “what is the difference between this and that?”.

I am not a newbie. I have been in the I.T. industry for more than 15 years now. Yes … I am that old ha ha ha! Yet companies ask these kind of questions even going to the point as showing a short code snippet and asking you what the output is.

Man … and yesterday was really funny. The interviewer gave me some questions on what the possible output is while she waited in front of me to answer. That just felt so weird. I was not in the mood to fully concentrate on those so I think I skipped 3 of them.

Not that I was sure of my answer anyway but man … those kind of questions do not need to be asked anyway. Majority of developers still use Google whatsoever. In the case of their code snippets, I could just have compiled and told them the output if they gave me a computer to use.

Plus, just because they see your list of skills does not mean one can still remember all of them. I am not a robot in the first place.

Even with this ranting, it is what I.T. companies do even to this day. As a seasoned developer, it can be irritating when interviews like this is done.

What do you think?
