No, this is not about technology. I am talking about mobility with regards to disabilities. The National Mobility Awareness Month is a great month to celebrate to raise awareness and show the world that people with disabilities can do more than what many people think they are not capable of.

To live an active, mobile lifestyle is the true purpose of this awareness. And it is through the efforts of organizations like NMEDA (National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association) where stories of people dealing with their disability inspire and encourage everybody to overcome what they believe are theier limitations.

This coming month will showcase a local hero who is defined as anyone in your community who is dealing with or overcoming mobility challenges.

There will also be a national spokesperson who will take charge and share his own experiences on what he did in life to be where he is today.

If you know anybody who can benefit from this event, you should let them know about it and have them join the local hero contest and vote for their story. If they do win, they can win one of the custom Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles. And get this. The winners will be awarded with these prizes on a national television.
