Mars Needs Moms (2011)
Well, this movie was something new. Gribble looks so real and he awfully looks like Dennis Padilla, just the bloated version. I did not expect the kid’s voice actor to be Seth Green too. I thought it was some kid’s voice. Then again, after watching the ending credits, it did not surprise me that they just modified Seth’s voice to sound like a kid’s. But that was just a bad choice of settings. The kid’s voice was totally annoying.
What is unique with the way this movie was made is how the character designs were patterned to the voice actors. The story is simple, plot wise. A young boy named Milo gains a deeper appreciation for his mom after Martians come to Earth to take her away. And this was because some nut case alien used nanny-bots to take care of new hatchlings … only females that is. All males are thrown off the some garbage dump where even the female citizens did not know anything about it.
That is … until Milo and Gribble’s adventures to save Milo’s mom opened one alien girl’s eyes to the truth.
Despite the annoying voice of Milo, I would say this is a good movie. The way they rendered Gribble is totally impressive. It really looks like a real person was in the movie. But we all know that is impossible because financially, that is just too darn expensive. And .. there is really no point putting in a real person inside a CGI movie when it was made as a 3d movie, right?
