Green Lantern: Emerald Knights (2011)
As the home planet of the Green Lantern Corps faces a battle with an ancient enemy, Hal Jordan prepares new recruit Arisia for the coming conflict by relating stories of the first Green Lantern and several of Hal’s comrades. Sounds exciting? Well, I guess, until you watch it.
The movie does not focus wholly on the plot. Instead, viewers are treated to storytelling on Green Lanterns past. While this movie is not that bad since the character designs and voice acting are pretty good, I expected more of the fight to have focused Krona who threatens the Guardians and their world of Oa.
But after watching it, one can understand why it was only a short fight. The Lanterns totally had no chance against the shadow demons. One touch against it and they are good as dead.
Again, the movie ain’t bad. It ain’t good either. I still hope there will be more Green Lantern movies coming. For now, we all just have to look forward to the upcoming Green Lantern: The Animated Series.
