Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010)

Finally got to watch this movie last weekend ever since it had been idling in my laptop since early this year. The movie’s theme is dark and gothic … literally. Everything was so dark I could barely see the characters clearly. It was not a good sight to watch actually.

I also did not read the books after part 5 since there was really no point reading it and watching the movie when not all parts in the book were and will be included. You would end up being frustrated why so many things were left out in the movies just like in the past 5 ones.

So here, viewers will get to watch Harry race against time and evil to destroy the Horcruxes, which enforce Voldemort’s power until he uncovers the existence another plot driven mystery: the Deathly Hallows. Even as Harry has grown up, he still cannot kill other wizards who are out to kill him. Lame.

I mean, how hard is it to chant the kill spell rather than keeping on using Stupefy (which should be called Stupidfy) when all it does is immobilize the enemy. What’s to be afraid of Voldemort?

So we all have to wait for the second movie to understand what the Deathly Hallows is all about. If you read the book, good for you. I am in no rush to find out about it because my interest had waned after the 4th book. As for the overall rating of this film, I cannot say this is a good movie since this revolved mainly on the Harry, Ron and Hermione running from place to place. It gets tiring. Kind of like the Terminator.
