Transformers: Prime (2010)

Transformers: Prime is an original computer-animated series by and on The Hub, Hasbro’s new joint venture with Discovery Communications. Finally! A transformers series that features CGI animation and not some anime type drawing. The previous Transformers series were just terrible, made worse because of trying hard comedian humans joining the character cast.

It has been awhile since the Decepticons last attacked Earth and the Autobots await their return. While befriending some human teenagers, the Autobots fight to protect the Earth from the Decepticons, and the return of Megatron who has been missing for three Earth years. With the possession of Dark Energon, Megatron plans to use this as a way to defeat the Autobots.

If all else, I would have wanted them to adopt the 1st generation design. The live action character designs were just terrible. Even after this, I would still say nothing beats the 1st generation designs. It was a sad day for the Autobots in their pilot episode as Cliffjumper died the moment he appeared.

Overall, this looks to be an exciting series. I hope there will be Dinobots and those merging robot groups like the Aerialbots and Constructicons. Without them, even the 1st generation series would have been boring. The creators did add Bulkhead to the Autobot mix, maybe it is a good thing there is something new. But they did one thing right. And it was the right thing to do: use the same voice actor for Optimus Prime.
