Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010)
This latest direct to DVD movie by the DC Universe tells the story of how Supergirl came to Earth and how she came to be known as just that. I tell you, the movie is great even though there were a few disappointing facts that I want to mention.
Superman got real clobbered by Darkseid’s omega beam? It was only after the sun recharged him that he was back into action. Now, it can be irritating to see different versions of what Superman’s real power is. The Justice League series really showed what he is capable of, showing Darkseid his real strength and clobbering him until Darkseid used Kryptonite to weaken him. They should stick to what can really affect Superman: Kryptonite and magic.
Darkseid should not be able to fight on par with Superman but here, he seems to be on par with him. So there we go with inconsistencies. Plus, I like Supergirl’s story origin in Superman The Animated Series better than this one but the movie is still good.
Darkseid is Superman’s most hated villain. He is pure evil. If I was superman, I would make an exception and kill him since all he does is come back and do something bad. Plus, after they got Kara back from Darkseid in Apocalypse, they just left. They should have beat the crap out of Darkseid before doing so. For all the times they fought against Darkseid, they should know he will cheat no matter what. Heck, even Braniac was duped by him before.
I like this movie. So many fight scenes in the last part of the movie but the part where Darkseid fights on par with Superman is just lame.
