This movie is full of emotion. I purposely held back my tears for fear my wife was going to tease me while we were watching it. There were scenes where it was fun and enjoyable but most of it was full of emo. What made it even more emo was the music. It is cute and just fits with the plot of the movie.
A young Carl Fredrickson meets a young adventure spirited girl named Ellie. They both dream of going to a Lost Land in South America. 70 years later, Ellie has died. Carl remembers the promise he made to her. Then, when he inadvertently hits a construction worker, he is forced to go to a retirement home. But before they can take him, he and his house fly away. However he has a stowaway aboard. An 8 year old boy named Russell, whose trying to get an assisting the elderly badge. Together, they embark in an adventure, where they encounter talking dogs, an evil villain and a rare bird named Kevin (who is actually female).
Pixar did a great job with this movie. Setting reality things aside (an old man able to pull a floating house?), this is movie will appeal even to adults. I was all emo during the first part of the movie when Carl and Ellie went from young to old and Carl was all alone after Ellie passed away and when Carl looked at Ellie’s scrapbook on stuffs that she wants to do where he finally realized that it was not the adventure to the falls that Carl thought Ellie still wanted but the adventure of their marriage together. Another great movie by Pixar! Definitely a must see!
