Some Schools In The Philippines These Days
This ain’t about college universities. I would like to talk a bit about high schools. We all want our kids to have the best education right? Why, I would put my kid in a good school even if it may be expensive a little bit. Yep, just a little bit. I am not going to put my kid in some so expensive school wherein the teachers there are just ordinary. Besides, kids get taught the same things. Anyway that ain’t really my point in this post. What my point is that I am pissed with how high schools these days add more financial woes to students’ families.
Take this one case with my brother in law. They were asked to research regarding the history of Cebu City. Ok, not that they need a computer and internet access to look for it, but it is the easiest and quickest way to get the information they need. Printing, no comment. What really irked me was that their research papers be bookbound. Bookbound?!? Come on! What for? That is another waste of money for families.
This certain school has this stupid rule to have students cover their notebooks with art paper according to the color of their section. So if you are in section Red, you would have to cover your notebooks in red. That, is another waste of money. Easy for them to order students around right? It would be better if they provide the students with those materials. Let us see how they like spending for nonsense things. Schools should do away with compulsory things to boost their budgets as well. They are already free from paying taxes, why squeeze money from the students’ families knowing the financial situations these days. Do they see the families of students as rich because their kids are studying there?
Nothing will change. Because nothing’s been done to penalize these things that schools do. Such a pity.
