Ayala Cebu, The Terraces
The day after I knew that the new area of Ayala Cebu opened, I couldn’t wait after work to go there. It was like Greenbelt all over for me because prior to the opening, people could already see the outside of it. It looked the same like Greenbelt’s design, but, more of a tiny version of it. For the first time in my life, I was not embarrassed to pose around for photos hahaha. I was pretty sure majority of the people who were also there wanted to have their photos taken as well.
The new area of Ayala is called The Terraces and they’re mostly fine dining restaurants and/or bar. TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) is also there too. Weeeee. I definitely will try that one out once it opens because I never had the chance to do it in Makati. Though I think I may have to wait a month after before I could try it since the places will always be packed for now. And that’s what happened last Friday when we went there with my wife. We only wanted to try out a few places since most of the establishments that opened are nothing new. Cafe Laguna, Cowrie Grill, Casa Verde? Nothing new, really except for a few ones. We wanted to try out Gilligan’s but the waiter said that all their staffs are busy so they couldn’t accept customers. That is weird and I’d say that is bad service if you ask me. Even those two japanese style cuisine establishments were packed. We ended up eating at Food Choices at the top level of Ayala instead.
The middle area of the terraces looks more like a park. I wonder why they didn’t remove the huge tree near the center. It typically blocked the mall’s view and its lights. The Terraces is a great addition to Cebu’s entertainment life. I hope there’d be more establishments that will open that are new and that are not redundant with existing food establishments here in Cebu.
