In a world ruled by people with a fancy for the secrets of a lady named Victoria, and in a market where loyalty is almost always given to the more recognizable brands, opportunities to begin and succeed as a lingerie/swimsuit designer appear to be elusive and unreachable for most wannabes.

But for the qualified, funded, daring, and committed, no dream career is ever unreachable. Nothing can be too big, too glamorous, too out of reach. Italian-born top designer Fabiola Marin pursued her dream to launch a new intimo line in, of all places, the Philippines!

Not only is this highly-spirited lady determined to bring Philippine fashion to the fore, she is also craving to feed her own vanity by having the direct hand in weaving and creating what could eventually be the next big name in the lingerie/swimsuit industry in this country.

Aptly, she has decided to call her new line “Vanita`”, which comes very close to the word “vanity” defined by the dictionary as “being pleased with oneself.” In reality, Vanita` is a Hindu word that means the ‘essence of a woman’.

Last Saturday, March 20, 2010, MAC was part of a launching event of this new intimate apparel company in Cebu. All lingeries and swimsuits were designed by an italian designer who also designs for Victoria’s Secret collections. So being part of this show was a great pleasure and experience for all of us that we were chosen to model their collection.

The event was successfully handled and planned by A-list events and advertising. The private fashion show was held in Aziza lounge just right next to Tinderbox, Banilad. There were only a number of invited guests allowed to watch the event since it was like a test run for the company owner/distributor.

Since the designs were all nice and comfy just like the Victoria’s Secret designs, right after the show the guests rushed to get one of the collections and i think it was a “sold out” night. Hopefully we will be seeing more of these collections in Cebu because of the successful feedback from the guests.
