A Sibling Is A Sibling No Matter How Messed Up Their Lives Are

I guess it is understandable to be frustrated with your aunt or uncle if your parent is stressed out because of how messed up their lives are and your parent ends up taking care of them.

I mean … what the hell? Is that even right? So here is the thing. My mom’s brother just separated from his legal wife since he said he is not happy with her anymore. He ends up living in with a much younger woman, has a kid with her then lets the kid get adopted by my cousin because they are not well off anymore.

Funny thing is, they have a new kid again. What gives? Won’t that piss you off? If you cannot afford to help yourself, why bother making another child? And pester some other people to help support you?

We are just average. I mean financially. As I keep telling my mom, if you cannot help yourself, you cannot help others. Do not force the issue. My uncle is just selfish thinking of only himself. And now that he has cancer, who does he turn to? My mom.

I get mad at my uncle whenever my mom complains to us that she is just so stressed out. My uncle’s legal family has already disowned him, his live-in partner is of no use so he ends up going to my mom giving her problems.

Yet, despite all this, I cannot help but think if it was my sibling in that situation wouldn’t I do the same? Just like a father is your father even if cheats your mother to some other girl, a sibling is still your sibling. And as what my mom is doing, no matter what bad or wrong things her sibling did in the past, she is still there for him because my uncle is my mom’s sibling and nothing can change that.
