Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (Movie - 2013) Review

This movie was not bad at all. Two famous children characters that kids and adults all know too well except that in this movie, they added a little twist. They are witch hunters!

Viewers won’t find out during the early part of the movie that Hansel and Gretel are both children of a witch. Well, a white witch to be exact. But the movie already gave me a hint when a black witch attacked Gretel and she did not get hurt at all.

Weird, right? So you know exactly that there is something going on.

It is known that witches, when found out are burned at the stake. In this movie, the black witches find a way to reverse that curse and make them immune from fire, in which a heart from the grand white witch is needed to do this.

Gretel’s mom passed that to her, eventually finding out about their true origins after the grand black witch tells them what happened to their parents.

The black witch, played by Famke Janssen of X-Men’s Jean Grey, did a fantastic job with her role. Gemma Arterton, as Gretel is a hottie. Woooot!

I like this movie. It was unique and the supernatural part of it was not bad either. This is one movie that is definitely worth watching.
