Why Are Some People Blaming Senior Inspector June Paolo Abrazado For Not Trying To Save DILG Secretary Robredo
And just like that, the news of Carabuena may be ignored now that another big news just happened: the crash of the plane carrying DILG Interior Secretary Robredo. Apparently, there was a survivor, his aide, Senior Inspector June Paolo Abrazado.
So yeah, I read the news and also the comments and was surprised so many people trying to put blame on Abrazado for not trying to save back his boss. Hell, he clearly described what happened to him before he sprung out of the water. He could barely move and when a fisherman saw him, people complained why Abrazado had to even ask to go to the Masbate police to report on what happened?
People wondered if Abrazado could have told the fisherman to go down deep and try to save those trapped inside the plane. Hell, no stupid fool would go down there, much more a fisherman with no scuba gear. People need to realize reality first rather than jump to conclusions.
I agree with what some people said that we should be thankful that someone even survived this tragic ordeal. I bet the cause of the crash was because the plane was old.
RIP to Secretary Robredo, and condolence to his family and to the two pilots who died as well. There will surely be people held liable and I know that the co-pilot should not have been any trainee considering that the passenger was a very important person.
Give Senior Inspector June Abrazado a break people. Easy for you to say such nasty things. It would be nice if you were in his shoes, then we will see what you plan to do. It is understandable if his testimonies of recalled events may not be consistent right away considering what just happened.
Anybody can be easily traumatized and not think straight. Some people may have good experience being bodyguards and all, but when the time may come where death is very near to you, duty can be out of the question and the only instinct man can think of is survival for himself.

met that guy before. he’s a decent man. such a shame to see him depart like that. but then again. we should really avoid banging our blame to the survivor… even if he is a supposed operative of whatsoeva…

Well first and foremost there are a lot of inconsistency with Abrazado’s testimony, from the very first day of tragedy his accounts keeps on changing, he can’t locate Robredo during by the time he regain conscious, then sometime later, he can’t get the seat belt to release and water is rising deep. The plane is a cesna 172, plane like those don’t crash the moment they loose engine, these things glides for like 15 miles, hence the fact that the plane didn’t break off. Abrazado, it isn’t he didn’t try to save Robredo, he just chose not to save. Funny thing is, sure given situations like this people will be in tramautic, but this are bodyguard and trained police, either his training failed or then there’s something else.

@james: i agree with you on some points. if only the piper seneca plane had a black box. survivor testimonies are not always accurate.

Nobody should blame Abrazado when he evacuate the plane and saved himself. what disgust me is his statement after, Inconsistent(more like lying). He said He tried to find the secretary but he is nowhere to be found. Eh nakita ang body ni secretary sa loob ng plane. And to add to the real facts, magkatabi sila sa loob ng maliit na eroplano.

I agree, first time I hear the news of blaming a survivor, I said..Holy Shit…is this the kind of country we have? Why was there no blaming of Air Aviation and the owner of the plane? Why blame a poor guy who just tries to save himself, and yeah he could also have tried to save his boss. It’s easier to save a person in dry land, than save a person in WATER! Especially bodyguards who are mostly trainned in land. Grow up people!!
