Superman VS The Elite (2012)
Even before watching this new DVD release by DC, my first reaction was “wow! Superman looks FUGLY!” Sure, they always change their character drawings but this one is the worst. This time, the character drawing looks more like it was patterned after John Travolta.
Get it? That ridiculous chin ha ha! As for the villains though … looks like some European villains for a change. One wearing a UK shirt but talks like an Irish. At least Superman’s voice actor is the same as in past Superman DVD releases.
Superman VS The Elite has an adult themed storyline in a way. First time I saw some innocent civilians die in a Superman movie or TV series. But the enemies were not that much interesting. While no Lex Luthor is a welcome sight anytime for me, DC did not do well overall.
What I like about the story though is how it relates to real life. Would you agree to have criminals killed because they will end up killing others again? I have to agree on this one. Provided that the criminals only motive is to really just kill.
Overall just an average movie. Some wanna-be kids wanting the world to be free of hate whatsoever. Baaah … not so enjoyable. I would have preferred Superman fought against enemies shown in the Justice League. That would have been neater. Then again … I guess this is better than having another Lex Luthor appearance.
