Anything Goes

So after watching this yesterday, I’d say it is okay. Not very good. Not very awesome. Just okay. In short, I was disappointed.

First, there were many negative comments on Witwicky’s new love interest, that her acting was bad. I agree with everyone who said that. Her voice is annoying to listen to. She is a good Victoria’s Secret model but her acting is just bad and … her role is useless.

Second, this is the 3rd movie for God’s sake! Why show more scenes on Witwick’y family and his new love interest? The movie is titled Transformers but more exposure is focused on humans than on the robots themselves. I tend to enjoy watching the parts where it was the robots’ scenes. Then, just when the good time’s momentum is ongoing, they shift back to humans.

Third, even in this movie we only get to see Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee in action most of the time. It got too redundant. What happened to those newly introduced Autobots? I was expecting the Stunticons to join the fray because of some screenshots I saw before the movie aired turned out to be the Wreckers that Prime called them and they still did not get much exposure.

4th, Starscream and Shockwave’s demise were pathetic.

5th, okay so Carly did have a use in the last part by tricking Megatron into killing Sentinel Prime. Great move? Beeeeeep! LOOPHOLE. Megatron thinking an ex-Autobot betraying him? All Decepticons know Autobots are honorable. Sentinel Prime’s motives were good intentioned, just not in the right place.

It is Decepticons that can never be trusted and yet, they depicted Megatron as a short minded fool into getting brainwashed by Carly. I guess the director did that on purpose to prove Carly’s existence in the movie was not a waste.

6th, again there is not much airtime with the Transformers. They merely became support characters instead of being the main ones and we get to see the same trying hard slapstick jokes that Sam’s parents try to put up with.

I had high expectations because Michael Bay assured everybody that this is better than the first two movies. He is wrong. I believe the first movie was better because people had no idea what to expect and showing more scenes on humans was understandable since it was a pilot movie.

There does not seem to be any next Transformers movie since Megatron, Starscream and Shockwave are all dead. Not unless some stupid human will want to reincarnate them again. Geez … and Shockwave was all about the giant eel and nothing else.
