I checked a site to get a definite description of cerebral palsy. From the organization site, it says it is a physical disability that affects the way that a person moves. It is caused by an injury to the developing brain, which usually occurs before birth.
Cerebral palsy is complex and families who have kids that have this disability can find it hard to understand the complex issues of parenting a child with it. The Cerebral Palsy Network aims to help parents cope with understanding this disability and how they can help their kids live life to the fullest, even if this is a lifelong disability.
You can get a free copy of the CP Family Network Survival Guide that lists cerebral palsy medical information for your state. It is put together by parents of children with cerebral palsy based on their experiences and the dedicated medical professionals working with Giles H. Manley.
