The Tooth Fairy

Just finished watching this kiddie movie and I would have to say it is not bad. Kids will definitely enjoy this movie. Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. The Rock is Derek Thompson who becomes a tooth fairy after discouraging a kid’s hope that tooth fairies do not exist.
Derek is also a hard-charging minor league hockey player whose nickname comes from his habit of separating opposing players from their bicuspids. When he becomes a tooth fairy, he is sentenced to one week’s hard labor as a real tooth fairy, complete with the requisite tutu, wings and magic wand.
At first, Derek “can’t handle the tooth” – bumbling and stumbling as he tries to furtively wing his way through strangers’ homes…doing what tooth fairies do. But as Derek slowly adapts to his new position, he begins to rediscover his own forgotten dreams.
The tooth fairy godmother’s character acted by Julie Andrews of Sound of Music fame is just the right person for the role. I was surprised to see Seth MacFarlane too, the creator of the Family Guy and American Dad cartoon TV series. I was surprised that Dwayne’s love interest is Ashley Judd. I think she got a bit chubby but she still looks awfully cute.
Great movie in my opinion. This is not “too” kiddie of a movie to me too so I enjoyed watching this.
