Transport Strike
Yesterday, we had a transport strike in our city. I never really knew about it till I got to the office and my friend told me online that there was such one. I wondered, what was it this time? It was about public drivers decrying traffic fines and they want those fines to be lowered. I got to read the headline in the newspaper too when I went out for lunch. I was somewhat peeved after I read that. Those drivers should be imprisoned. It is as simple as that. If you do not want to get fined, then do some honest driving. The problem here is that they feel like they own the road. Stopping along or in between the road anytime, driving too fast even when they are not on a highway or just overtake other vehicles like they are about to die and they need to go the hospital.
In short, they have no discipline. And for them to declare a transport strike just for that is just plain selfish and abusive. They ought to be imprisoned right away (but that is not possible right?). If I was rich, I would like to donate a prison building for people like those. It is pretty simple logic. Behave, drive slowly and you will be fine. Drive recklessly like you own the road and you are history! Because of what they did, they crippled lots of people who needed to commute going to work. I was lucky I did not have to wait for a ride. I only realized later on that it was possible a strike had been going on because my ride did not encounter any traffic. Transport strikes are already bad. Those drivers made it worse.
