Globe DSL Is Pathetic
Isn’t it frustrating if the sites you surf can not connect to it? Hell, even Google’s website sometimes cannot be accessed. Here I am on a Sunday morning, going online to surf the news and what happens?
The connection has timed out
The server at www.URL.com is taking too long to respond.
90% of the time I keep on complaining to Globe. As I said before in my post, I need consistency. All they give you is the reason of system maintenance. How long does a system maintenance take? I already experienced that reason the moment they setup that DSL connection to me. So far it has been 2 weeks already and if I am to rate their service? No exaggeration whatsoever, it is a big ZERO. It is pretty normal download sites like Rapidshare will only allow you to download from one IP only. So 99% of the time I always get the message that the IP I am using is already downloading a file. It takes a miracle to get that slot and I did have one yesterday. Problem was, when I click the download button, it tells me the session has expired. WTF?!? So they would not allow me to download? I barely even download.
I am wondering how much adjustment I will be given come bill time. We will see. What is more frustrating is that I cannot blast customer service no matter how mad I am because I know they are just punching bags for customers. The higher-ups are the ones who need to be blasted with complaints but this is just how things work out. They hide behind their customer service to be shielded from complaints. My cousin already warned me beforehand not to get Globe’s DSL because he had bad experiences with them. Then again, we already have a Globe landline so it was Globe’s DSL I had to take. I am planning to upgrade to a 2MB line which I am afraid will still be a shared IP. And when I asked customer service about it, the person who answered could not give me an answer (pretty sure she has no idea technically). Will see what will happen then …

Amen.
Globes level of service is really pathetic. I have called globe CS several times and I usually need to talk to a supervisor before I get a straight answer from anyone.
Its very annoying having to call and have them tell me that they are having “Network Restoration”. They cant even tell me what they are trying to fix in the first place! I would prefer that they tell me straight out what the problem is and inform me on how long it will take to fix it. I can live with having to wait for a month or more for them to fix a problem as long as I have a date to look forward to.
So tempted to switch providers… unfortunately have had problems with PLDL before as well.

PLDT isn’t any better. My smtp has been out for 2 weeks and I suspect some pop mail is not getting through as well. After they started running service from Cebu (not Manila) their service has gone downhill.
