Turning Japanese
Dec 17, 2008 I food.Last night was our annual Christmas party of the Lesfange group. The Lesfange group consists mostly of people who used to work with Bigfoot’s HR department, which I like to call them, the original HR haha. Although I am not from their department before, I have even forgotten how I became close with that group. Our venue was Wakamatsu, a Japanese Cuisine restaurant located at Pacific Square 1 in Mabolo just beside Castle Peak hotel. It is along the road, so you can easily spot it. It was pretty cool. We sat on the floor actually but they have a holed area which makes your position like a normal sitting position. They gave us lots of pretty raw stuff because we were the ones who cooked them. It is fun but sometimes can be at a disadvantage especially if you are hungry because you would have to cook the food first. I think their staff can help you cook your food if you would ask them to.
There were was one peculiar food that I ate for the first time last night. A cow’s tongue (or so they said). At first they told me it was chickens’ tongues but it was quite big so I was pretty sure they were fooling around with me. It tasted alright. Their raw squid salad (I forgot the name of that shimi watchamacallit) was great, as was their vegetable salad. Their rice had some sticky paste on it which I think is there for a purpose so you would be able to eat your rice. We actually ordered a variety of stuffs because one of our friends from Dubai donated a few cash for our party so we practically ordered just about anything. I have no comments on the prices because more or less it was all free haha. Free is the magic word lolz.
A warning to would be diners. They have a rule not to leave any leftovers or else you would have to pay the price for your food, in double (just the item(s) that are not empty). For photos of the food, please click here.
Like what you see? Buy me a cup of coffee. I love cappuccinos.
