Bukidnon Commute

The times when I went to Bukidnon before, I always thought of it as suicide because the road is too narrow starting from Cagayan de Oro up to there. Today was no exception. I did not expect my dad would go to Bukidnon because I only wanted to go to Camp Philips. It is much much nearer from Cagayan de Oro than it is from Bukidnon. Until now, they have not expanded the roads to 4 lanes which sucks because you always have to overtake on the other side of the road to pass by the slowpoke vehicle ahead of you. And considering the fact that there are lots of curved roads, accidents happen often. Today was the first time that I experienced that it rained very hard you can barely see the far side of the road. You would have to drive slow, and overtaking is pretty dangerous considering that it was foggy. If you go slow, it would be 48 years till you would reach your destination. I was pretty scared and mad while my dad drove since I never wanted nor even planned to go to Bukidnon. He wanted me to see the monastery put up by the monks that looks like a pyramid. So we wasted our time and fuel just to go there and ended up mad at each other.

Worse, there are lots of sections on the road that are pretty messed up which adds up to delays in vehicles passing by. Plus while going up to where the monastery is, we almost got stuck on the muddy side of the road. I was glad we got out of that. If that would have been me driving, who knows, I might not be able to get us out from that situation. The road’s pretty narrow too. Anyway, it just sucks. No one wants a slowpoke vehicle, worse a huge truck moving slowly like a roller. Don’t get me wrong. I’m sure Bukidnon has nice attractions that involves nature. But for me, it’s not worth risking your life for that.
