The Dreaded Needle

It’s Physical Exam 2008 in our company and as always, I was a bit nervous after I arrived in the office and proceeded to the 4th floor to have my physical. I’ve always hated needles. I have a very bad phobia of it, including blood. I have never fainted though, and I hope I never will. I don’t know why I’m allergic to needles. It was only once that when someone injected me near my shoulder, I didn’t feel anything, nor reacted once it pierced my skin. That guy was very good. Usually my muscles tighten once the needle would pierce through my skin. It’s just my natural reaction to it. I hate needles. I hate blood. I hate horror movies. Chop chop movies? Ick! No way! Back when I was a kid, I usually get injected on my ass and I always stay on the bed (in the hospital) for a few minutes because since my muscles always tighten up, my muscles cramp after it. The physical took only a few minutes since there were not much people around. Whenever it’s blood extraction, I never look at the injection extracting blood from me. Who knows, I might collapse. It was funny though, because right when the nurse said it’s ok, I immediately looked at my arm and saw the injection’s needle still pierced through my skin. Ack! Then I looked at its container and saw my blood. Ick! I immediately looked the other way because I thought everything was done. I think that today’s blood extraction was a bit better because my muscles didn’t tighten up. I was only scared when the needle was about to pierce my skin. Once it got inside, everything went smoothly. I hope it will be the same from here on out. I want to conquer my phobia of needles and blood. It may not be so easy. Dextros may be worse … They say the needle’s thicker and bigger than ordinary needles used to extract blood. te-de-deeeeen. Heeeeeelpppppp!

Like what you see? Buy me a cup of coffee. I love cappuccinos.
