Why I Love My Parents

Most of us love our parents. I say most of us because there may be others whose situation make them not to love their parents. In my case, I do very much. When you grow older (not physically), especially when you become a parent is the time when you realize just how valuable your parents really are. You think back to the days when you were still a kid, how you cried so hard if something you want wasn’t given to you. When you think about it now, you’d understand why and probably laugh about it. Times these days are hard we don’t get everything that we want. You will realize a lot of things once you become a parent yourself. I have no baby as of this time but even so, I had already come to value and treasure my parents very much. I know how much love they gave to me because without it, without their care, guidance and all, I would not be here to where I am now. Not even in this world.

Sometimes, I tend to raise my voice over an argument or some talk with any of my parent and I realize my mistake, I always say sorry to them after. If it’s hard for you to say sorry in front of them, you could call them up. If you kind of feel very very guilty about it still, you can text them about it. Apologizing in front of them is always the best way but if you find it hard to do it, the latter two will do. Better than nothing right? And it doesn’t matter how you apologize, saying it takes guts and overcomes your pride. That’s not any easy thing to do so it doesn’t matter how you do it as long as you do it, for me it’s fine. Ever said “I Love You” to any of them? I did, and still do sometimes. I know saying you love your parents can be a pretty hard thing to do. It’s much easier to say it in front of your boyfriend/girlfriend right? But to your parents? Yeah. I never said that to them back when I was very young. It was only during the time I went to a retreat during my high school days that they brought up that topic about saying you love your parents. It was pretty awkward prior to saying it but I did and it felt good afterwards.

I’m thankful that my situation is not the same as others where people are having hard times with their lives. My goal is to earn money more than enough so that I can have my parents retire and let them live the comfortable life while I do the work. I want them to relax and enjoy life without hardships now because I had witnessed firsthand the hardships they went through and even though with all that, they successfully raised our family and have me to where I am now. Without my parents, I am nothing. Without them, I do not exist. Because of them, I am here in this world. That’s why I love my parents very much. They had done everything for me and more. They may not know about this post, but they already know in their hearts that I love them very much.
