Time To Go …
Aug 05, 2008 I life.I love the Philippines. But times have changed and I am now set than ever to migrate some place else. Sure, prices worldwide have soared too. But at least prices in some countries where I want to migrate to do not exceed way more than how much one earns. Food these days are scarce too. Is it? How come in countries like the U.S. or say, Singapore, the quantity of food serving is still plentiful compared to here. Seems that if food names don’t have “mobster” or probably “jumbo” beside them, the food serving would look too bulilit. Take the case of KFC’s Chicken BBQ Burger. Or even Jollibee’s Champ (although KFC’s burger is way too worse). They should rename it to Jollibee Chump. I commented about mobster because last night, my wife and I tried out Roma Mia’s mobster meals. When my mobster spaghetti meal was served, I said to myself, what’s so mobster with this? The amount of noodle serving was average and its sauce was too less. So this is what food names that depict giant sized meals really are, just average ordinary amount serving during the good old days.
Hey, a 5$ meal in some other country gives you a full blown meal. Why not a 5 peso full blown meal? Haha! That is the problem here. Your salary can barely even get you the things that you want to have. You would have to have a waaaay more than average per month salary to get one after a few months. So people say it’s not easy working abroad. Yeah right. It depends on what kind of work you have now anyway. I work like a robot, so might as well work in some other country that rewards the effort that I put in everyday. Which one would you choose? Work like hell and get little? Or Work like hell and earn your money equal to what it’s worth. Yes, I earn more than the monthly minimum here. But it is not sufficient with all the prices soaring non-stop while food commodities shrink to ridiculous proportions and my salary stays idle. I used to think differently back when I was younger. I never even wanted to work abroad nor get envious of my friends who are working in some other country. But now that I am married, it’s not just my family that I am going to take care of. I also want to take care of my old family … my parents, brother and sister, giving them any support they need and well, I want my parents now to live a comfortable life, let them retire. And the way I see that happening will be to migrate abroad. Time to get serious with my future. Time to go …
Like what you see? Buy me a cup of coffee. I love cappuccinos.

nangigo jud ai! hehe
bitaw oi. exactly my sentiments! the prices have gone way up and our salaries remain blah. if you come to think of it, our buying power last year was way way better than our current. it’s depressing, really, to have come to a realization that maybe the Philippines is no longer a viable country to live in. *sigh*

Hi, I know exactly where you’re coming from. I earned more than the minimum when I used to work but was never able to save up or to give my parents any money. So although it was a difficult decision to leave, I have to do it. I miss home but no regrets…
The best of luck, mate =D
