Anything Goes

Whew, I’m probably one of the last to watch this movie. Although the news mentioned that it did well in the box office, I found it so-so. I was pretty excited when news of the movie first came out because I heard that Iron Man’s enemy would be the Mandarin. Then it turned out to be his first designed armor. It wasn’t that bad I guess but the Mandarin would have made a better and more powerful enemy. Instead Iron Man gets to fight against another bucket of bolts and the bad guy’s one of his associate in the company. A lot of my friends did complain that the movie was short which I didn’t think was because a movie’s normal running time would be around one and a half hour. We had been to bedazzled with such movies as Spiderman 3, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter that run like almost 3 hours. It’s understandable that a superhero’s first movie tends to be a bit dragging as we’re always shown the origin of how the character came to be. There were only a few fight scenes with Iron Man in action that made it disappointing, though even short, were cool. At least we won’t get to see an origin story revolving around Rhodes a.k.a. War Machine. And since there’s a sequel coming up, it better be against the Mandarin. … and … can’t wait for the Avengers!
