Java IDs For java.util.TimeZone In The United States

The java.util.TimeZone class in the API specifically lists America/Los_Angeles as the Java ID to be used if a U.S. state falls within the Pacific Timezone. You can get a list of all available IDs supported by the TimeZone class by calling the getAvailableIDs() method which returns an array of String objects. But the list has too many America IDs that you cannot know which one is supported by the other timezones. Look no more. Here are the following Java IDs for the different timezones in the U.S.

Central TimeCSTAmerica/Chicago
Mountain TimeMSTAmerica/Denver
Pacific TimePSTAmerica/Los_Angeles
