Sonic The Hedgehog For iTouch

The classic hedgehog we all love in Sega is now available for the iTouch. Released by Sega, relive your favorite memories of the Genesis era as you rocket Sonic through fast paced levels and dizzying dives as you gather up rings and stop Dr. Eggman. Sonic is one of my all time favorite classic games aside from Super Mario and I was pretty excited when I learned that it is available for the iTouch. The default display mode for the game stretches its visuals which makes the game not so high-res looking but still good looking. The game play is the same. All you need to do is move forward, backward and jump either to get rings or tromp on enemies.

The sounds are also excellent in my opinion. Interestingly, whenever you quit the game and go back to playing it again, you get to continue at the exact same place and level when you last quit so you do not need to start the level all over again. Pretty cool. The game does not feature tilting for moving Sonic along. It provides you with a sort of transparent control pads on the screen for moving (left side) and jumping (right button). There are Seven Zones including classics such as the Green Hill Zone and Labyrinth Zone, as well as special stages in an attempt to collect all the Chaos Emeralds. Overall, this is a pretty neat game. Sega did a good job porting it to the iTouch and it would be great to see other Sega classic games ported as well. Here is hoping Nintendo does the same thing ;).

Time is money. That is what Liquid Scenarios believes in.
