Well, I said in some ways because I am not sure if other services of Google are not like the one I am currently having a problem with.

A week ago, I received an email that they auto-renewed the domain that I registered. I had totally forgotten about that domain because I barely used it. I was not even expecting that the default setting in their web console for managing the domain for auto renewal was set to true.

So anyway, I called up my credit card company and they said the only way to waive the transaction is to call up the merchant.

Then I started sifting through Google’s help pages only to find out there is no way to contact customer support.

I mean, what the hell?! They put up a Contact link only to be diverted to useless pages where you have to read and read and read on possible solutions but not even 1 link that redirects me to a form so I could voice my complaint and have them cancel the auto renewal transaction.

Well, guess I just have to live with it. To be on the safe side, I deleted my credit card information in my Google Wallet account. That way, I won’t be screwed up with their unbeknownst to me default settings. If I want to buy something, then I will add my credit card information and delete it right away after the transaction.

Google screws customers in some ways and can never be trusted

Finally! After so many agonizing years of waiting, Google Contacts finally supports high resolution images to be used in your contacts.

Well, I actually did not wait that very long. Maybe just a few months but I read that this issue was already brought up more than 3 years ago.

While the previous workaround was to use Google+ and sync it to one’s mobile phone, I did not want to do this because not all my Google+ contacts are people I keep in touch with all the time.

The only solution for me that time was just to wait. Imagine my surprise when I added a new contact and selected an image to find out that the user interface for uploading an image looks different. It got bigger was what I thought.

Then it came to me … could it be Google Contacts now supports high resolution? YES!

Now my contacts look good in my phone! And yes … tablets ;).

Man! This has really gotten me pissed! When Jellybean came out with the announcement that it will support higher resolution images (720×720) compared to what Ice Cream Sandwich did (2562×256), I was really excited.

But even when I sync my Android smartphone with Google Contacts, the contact photos still revert back to 96×96 versions.

I wondered why it took them very long to do something about this and I found out that it had been a few years back when this issue was raised. More than 3 years have passed and the GMail team still had not done anything.

So maybe they are doing something about it … but … 3 years have passed and not even a 256×256 support has not been incorporated.

This is actually the only feature I am looking forward if I were to upgrade my Android OS to Jellybean. I just want to see my contacts’ photos in high resolution.
