I am a huge fan of Inspector Gadget and when I found out there is a game for the iTouch, I immediately downloaded it. Rather than be excited for endless fun, I was dismayed that I did not like this game. Not much to offer actually. You see Inspector Gadget running endlessly avoiding obstacles, jumping and defeating enemies along the way.

That’s it.

This fast-paced adventure where the Inspector uses his collection of gadgets to chase down Dr. Claw and his henchmen and save his niece Penny did not really excite me that much. In short, I was disappointed.

For Inspector Gadget fans like me, even with the bad game play there are some bonus stuffs that come with it like 10 of the best FULL TV episodes, unlocking and unscrambling an image to reveal the elusive Dr. Claw’s face, a GoGoGadget ringtone, gadget soundboard, concept art samples and a retina display graphics for iPhone 4 users.

The iPad 2 is now officially on sale and iFixIt went right to work by dismantling it to see the internal hardware parts. The one thing I was so keen on knowing is how much RAM does the iPad 2 have. I expected it would be 1GB to counter its competitors’ tablet products that boast 1GB of RAM.

It is now official. The iPad 2 has only 512MB of RAM which is very disappointing. I have read comments in other sites that said 512MB is enough. Yes. That is true. It is enough for 1 year only. Once a new iOS version comes out, the hardware requirements increases.

I am looking at this from a long term basis point of view. If the RAM was 1GB, then I do not have to worry about thinking that whenever there will be a new iOS version released, my current iPad 2 will perform slow. If you have lots of money, then go ahead and buy an iPad every year.

I look at a product that I think I can keep long term and I hoped that the iPad 2 is the one. Sad to say the 512MB is a disappointment and unless the iPhone 5 boasts 1GB of RAM, I have decided to put on hold my iPad 2 purchase.

One more thing. I think the reason Apple never mentioned the 512MB RAM is because a lot of people may be disappointed any will hold off buying an iPad 2. Sure, there will be many people buying them, but there will be some who won’t if they knew about it firsthand.

Even though Apple devices are pricey, I would say this iTouch 4th gen that I recently bought is worth it. Why? Because of the wonderful people behind jailbreaks. Now anybody can get any games and apps that they want. While Apple’s device is great, it all boils down to the apps.

These devices were never much of a hit when the iTouch was just a music and video player. Once they introduced apps to the world, that was the start of Apple’s rise to overtake Microsoft. Without apps, the iPhone and iTouch would be nothing.

I have played and tried a few games here and there so in the coming days, I will be back to doing reviews on iTouch games. This time, my appetite has come back because I am very impressed with the graphics quality that games have today compared to games running in iTouch’s old operating system.

Stay tuned …
