It did not take long for them to officially go this path. The ads I mean. While there are already some ads sprawled on the side of one’s Facebook page, everybody knew that it was only a matter of time when Facebook will start splash ads in almost every space available in the page.

Sponsored stories as they call it reportedly will begin appearing in the feed in the top right corner of home pages. Once the page will be full of worthless ads, I may have to stopped using it.

Placing it in an area that constantly streams Internet bandwidth is of no use to me. That live feed section is already annoying to me. Adding ads to it makes it even more of a nuisance.

Well, they are a corporation. Apart from selling user info to investors (don’t give me that crap that they do not sell those to 3rd party poopers), these ads will enable them to get more profits and solidify to non-techie minded people that Facebook survives because of ads when all the time majority of the reasons investors put their cash on them is to get access to user details.

After reading this article in Mashable, I can only say I hope Skype is not serious about accepting it. Well … maybe a join venture but not a buyout. They would be stupid to let that happen.

In the article, it said two reliable sources say Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is talking to Skype about either buying the company or forming a joint venture, according to Reuters.

One of the sources said Facebook is considering a buyout of Skype at a price of between $3 billion and $4 billion.

The other source told Reuters the deal won’t be a purchase by Facebook but rather a joint venture between Facebook and Skype.

Skype and Facebook are no strangers. In October, when Skype released its version 5.0 software for Windows, it included a Facebook tab that let users chat or call Facebook friends via Skype, right from the Facebook newsfeed that can be viewed from within the Skype application.

Facebook isn’t the only one chasing Skype. One of the sources talking to Reuters added that Google was also in “early talks” with Skype about a joint venture.

Even if they are Facebook (overhyped) or Google, I hope Skype won’t let themselves be bought. They are already a strong force to be reckoned with. A joint venture perhaps depending on the deal but a buyout? No way. What do you think?

You like someone. They are in a relationship. Be the first to know when they are out of it. That is what the Facebook Breakup Notifier, a new app for the site is all about. The concept is simple, and it may become popular.

It lets users pick certain friends whose relationship status they would like to monitor. If one of those relationships changes, the user gets notified by e-mail.

So, if that old high school flame suddenly becomes “single” or the receptionist you’ve pined for decides that her on-again, off-again relationship is now “complicated,” you can swoop right in.

The app is created by developer Dan Loewenherz. While it may have induce a little stalking, among single and interested folks, who can deny that Facebook is used to keep up with the romantic doings of others? Creepy yes. But in the first place, you should be careful who you approve as a Facebook friend, right?

Theoretically, the app could be used by friends who just want to keep up with the love lives of their buddies so they can be there with a pint of ice cream and a shoulder to cry on when things go sour. (Photo by CNN)
