Wow! Apple really demoted the iPad Mini. Good luck to Apple fanboys wasting their money just to get any new gadget by Apple. Well, it is your money anyway so it is yours to waste too.

However, I ain’t going to buy some scrap device that is very expensive yet the hardware specs suck. You are better off with the iTouch.

The articles I had read about the iPad Mini stated that the hardware specs are the same as those of the iPad 2. Now, that means that the RAM is 512MB which stinks. No way am I wasting my money on this one.

I really planned to buy this one if the specs are worth it. Turned out disappointing.

I will wait next year to see if it will have Retina display and an upgrade of RAM. That will still depend because I bet they are going to upgrade it to just 1GB of RAM while other competitor tablets have way better hardware specs.

Yes, some people may say one does not really need a powerful device. If you only do Facebook that is :P. If one is into gaming, these specs are only good for a few months. Once a better device comes out with small upgraded hardware, new games that hog so much resources will run slow.

What about you? Any plans to get this one? I think you are better off getting the latest iPad instead.

This will be a never ending battle between the two smartphone maker behemoths. I knew Apple would win because I think America would like to punish alien companies. However, unsurprisingly Samsung vowed to appeal the verdict.

Even if Samsung won, Apple would have done the same and this case will continue on and on. The only ones getting hurt here are the consumers. Only the lawyers of Apple and Samsung stand to benefit from this ongoing saga of patent wars.

Apple’s patent claims are stupid to begin with. But their actions come as no surprise seeing as the arrogance they have displayed is the same as the kind when Sony and Microsoft ruled during their times.

Instead of innovating, litigating is the way to go.

I am no specific fan of iOS and Android. Both are great. My wife uses iOS while I use Android. Apple singling out and focusing on its wrath against Samsung alone clearly shows fear in their minds because everybody knows Samsung is their biggest hurdle from total smartphone domination.

And it irritates me when I get to read Apple’s reasoning that consumers may mistake iPhone for a Samsung smartphone. The way they see it is that all consumers are stupid because we may not be able to differentiate an Apple smartphone from a Samsung one.

Way to go Apple.

With so many patents on even the most stupid of ideas being owned, the cost of a smartphone may skyrocket way too much in no time. And this will only hurt consumers even more.

Okay, so they do not call it the iPad 3 or the iPad HD. Rather, they just call it the third generation iPad. Suits me fine. I must say, the improvements on the hardware have impressed me and finally convinced me to think that this is finally the iPad that I have been waiting for.

Why? the 5MP camera for one. If it was VGA no matter if Apple added 10GB of RAM or 128GB of space, I will never be convinced to get one. 5MP is a different story.

While I was hoping that the CPU would be quad-core, Apple opted quad-core to be on the graphics side. Nothing people can do about it considering the dominance of Apple in the tablet area so they sure want to hold on to some hardware specifications later on in next generation models.

High resolution display? Can you even distinguish it? Even their sample photos cannot be distinguished so it is not really important to me but I consider it an added bonus.

Retina display? Only a bonus. The iPad 2’s quality is already okay. Considering that an iPad’s text size is way more than readable, zooming is really not that big of an option unless your eyesight’s bad. That is the only use that I can think of for retina display.

I read an article where the writer stated that Android is not compelling especially from a software standpoint compared to Apple’s iOS. I have to disagree. Most app makers chose Apple because of the hype and the popularity that comes with it considering they were the first to make tablets a hit.

If app makers also made Android versions, it would level the playing field. Why I want an iPad is because of the games, not the apps. Good luck to people wanting to use apps for other things. That is their choice. I would be better off using a desktop. iPad is just gaming for me.

It will have to be a few more days till iFixIt gets a hold of the 3rd generation iPad. Once confirmed that it has 1GB of RAM, then this will be the iPad that I will decide to get one.

What about you? What do you think of the 3rd generation iPad? Share your thoughts.
