I’ve seen the large Gundam statue in Japan a few months back. Now, he probably has met his match. The Chinese have unveiled a giant Optimus Prime in Beijing, no doubt to counter giant robots recently built by the Japanese.

The Transformers icon stands nearly 40 feet tall and weighs 6 tons. Fittingly, Prime was fashioned out of recycled car parts such as engines and tires. Wow … if they could make one like him, just think how good recycled parts can be if they can make more Transformers bots and have them on display.

It can be a better tourist attraction you know if they have more robots. It took five truckloads of parts to put Prime together.
