Who is Michiko Yamamoto?
Well, she writes movies for a living-and she writes real good. In fact, if she were in la-la land (hollywood) she’d be reaping big bucks for her deft artistry in letting an artist’s soul show through film. But she does not reside in hollywood; she does her toil in the philippines. The films she wrote have won countless awards but she remains a relative unknown in the public consciousness.
All well and good, in my opinion. I believe obscurity lends its own charms and mystiques. There is no need to get-to-know the artist. We just need to get to know and enrich ourselves with their art. And as stated, she makes damn-fine, near-perfect art.
