Microsoft looks to be joining the long list of companies offering cloud services. Their product, called Windows SkyDrive is a free file hosting service that allows users to upload files to a cloud storage and then access them from a web browser.
Users can opt to keep the files private, share them with contacts or just make them public. Private files are required a Windows Live ID to access them though so if you do not have one, or you do not mind setting them to private, just set them to public instead.
The service is pretty good considering that at first use, every account is offered 25GB of free storage and every file set at a maximum of 100MB. Not bad, right?
You can find a sky drive review here so you can know other features that users can come to expect when one creates a Windows SkyDrive account.
From the portal guide Top 10 Online Backup, they gave us all a favor by providing a review that details the most important features that Windows SkyDrive offers. This way, users can just read the review and already get a general idea if the features would match the user’s requirements.
