Avengers! Assemble! (2012)
I normally just put in the movie’s title plus the year as title of movie post reviews. However, I will take exception for this one because the movie failed to have this phrase mentioned which is the group’s famous phrase whenever they need to meet up.
What can I say about the Avengers movie? This is the best movie of all time! Yes! The best! Even though I am a huge Star Wars fan, the Avengers tops it! Marvel did the right thing in making most of the characters their own solo movies before creating one that featured all of them together.
What made this a very good movie is the fact that they made the Incredible Hulk’s character very impressive. His movements, his personality, his CGI design are absolutely perfect and exceeds the previous 2 move incarnations.
While the humor in some scenes were predictable, Hulk’s actions were unpredictable. I laughed out loud after he punched Thor all of a sudden when they were side by side after a fight against the enemies. Here are some of my overviews on each character.
Captain America - good solo movie and good leadership skills organizing the Avengers into one cohesive unit. Chris Evans’ movie on Captain America was awesome. He made it even better on the Avengers.
Thor - good solo movie, still did an excellent job donning the Thor character in this movie. Great job Chris Hemsworth!
Hawkeye - pretty lame. This character moves like a robot. The guy does not even arch his back, it is always stiff. While showing off his arrow arsenal is his strong point in the movie, Jeremy Renner’s character portrayal is not good enough.
Incredible Hulk - best CGI adaptation. Too bad he did not say “Hulk Smash!”. Captain America instead said it.
Iron Man - great job for Robert Downey Jr. Seems his career is going upward. His personality as Tony Stark fits him perfectly.
Black Widow - Scarlet Johannsen is hot and beautiful. Her character is so-so.
Nick Fury - predictable that Samuel Jackson got the nod for this character and he did a hell of a job. It was good seeing SHIELD on the good side for once. I still look at SHIELD in the cartoon version as evil.
Loki - Tom Hiddleston’s facial features fits the Loki character perfectly. At least he made strides in becoming a big more powerful in the Avengers movie, he still did not have those magical powers that make his character so potent.
What made me excited overall in this movie happened after watching the ending credits end. Who appeared?!? Thanos! If there will be a sequel, which I am hoping there will be (there should be considering the success at the box office), this is going to be one hell of a fight!
Can they stand a stand against him? A Fantastic Four + Avengers combo will definitely rock the sequel. Although, just the Avengers will do. Looking forward to the sequel!
